Duration:
Two year full time.
Eligibility:
A graduate from any statutory university with a minimum of 50% marks
at graduation level. Candidates passing degree examination by part
time/ correspondence course or in one sitting are not eligible.
Students appearing for their final year can apply but their admission
will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks. A candidate
is eligible to apply in one category and for one course only.
Course Fees:
Rs. 1,10,000 per annum
Intake:
A total of 180 students are selected for this course.
These include
• 15% and 7.5% of seats reserved for SC/ST candidates respectively
• 15% seats reserved for sponsored candidates
• 2% seats reserved for “physically handicapped candidates
(blind, hearing impaired (Deaf/dumb) mentally retarded or those
with orthopedic disorders)
• Kashmiri Migrants: 2 seats over and above the total intake
– children of migrants from J&K valley or Defence and
Civil Service Personnel presently posted and engaged in fighting
against terrorist activities in J&K valley
• International students – 60 seats
Selection Procedure:
The selection procedure consists of a written examination –
SNAP. If shortlisted, Group Discussion, Individual Presentation
& Personal Inteview will follow.
The weightage is as below:
Written Test: 150 marks
Group Discussion: 60 marks
Individual Presentation/ Interview: 60 marks
Past Academic Record: 10 marks
Work Experience: 10 marks
Written Communication Skills: 10 marks
Past Academic Record: The marks for academic record would
be allotted as follows
Std. X: 80% and above = 5 marks, 65% and above but less
than 80% = 2 marks
Std. XII: 80% and above = 5 marks, 65% and above but
less than 80% = 2 marks
Work Experience: No weightage is given to experience
below one year and the criteria for distribution of marks for
experience is period of experience, continuity, relevance or kind
of job profile.
1 year and below = 0
1 to 2 years = 4 marks
2 to 3 years = 8 marks
3 years and above = 10 marks
Written Communication Skills: An essay would have to
be written by the student before he/she appears for the G.D. &
Individual Presentation (Topics will be provided)
How to apply:
Step1. Register with SNAP 2005 online by downloading the
form and paying the requisite registration fees. For more information
visit the site www.snaptest.org.
Step 2. Purchase SIBM prospectus by paying application
fee of Rs.1,200/- by cash or sending DD of Rs.1300/- in favour of
“Director, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management”
payable at Pune. After the SNAP results are declared check for the
shortlist of students for G.D./ Interview.
If no written communication is received please reconfirm the date
and timing of the G.D./ Presentation through mail, telephone or
the website.
Please carry your SNAP admit card of that particular year, proof
of identity i.e. ID card, licence etc. at the time of G.D. / Interview.
Please carry all your testimonials in original and photocopy i.e.
from Std. X to recent qualifications, work experience certificates,
if any, etc.
No change in timing, date or day will be entertained.
Step 3. Finalization of Admission: On being selected for
the course you are required to pay the fees (for confirming your
admission) by obtaining a fee challan which is given only from the
SIBM office. You also need to submit the following documents:
• Final year mark sheet
• Degree certificate / Provisional passing certificate
• Bonafide certificate
• Migration certificate
• Sponsorship letter (in case of SC / ST caste, Physically
handicapped / Kashmiri Migrant certificate as applied for)
After confirming your admission please collect the selection letter,
from the faculty-in-charge which includes the pre joining assignments.
(Both Symbiosis National Aptitude Programme(SNAP) and applying to
SIBM is mandatory, without which an applicant will not be considered
for the SIBM shortlist.)
